You should never run cases that are not matched. Cases are machined as an assembly and therefore the bores line up correctly for proper operation. Running cases that are mismatched will lead to more headaches than anything else. Isn't that right Kerry?

Yep, you cannot even buy new cases from Kawasaki without buying them as a pair. Each is pre machined from the factory to match the other (where they bolt together.

Not only for assembling them, but the crank bore must be lined up with itself (top and bottom half). I've seen cases run from different assemblies (even different models) that were so far off you could see it from 20' away. And usually whoever assembles something as atrocious as this blames it on someone else. Isn't that right Kerry?

Not only that James but I'm assuming they are also line bored as a set for the crank also. I've seen mismatched sets work but it's certainly a very good idea to avoid this if you can. I've also seen them NOT work(
