Heya Momar,
Believe me, i'm the same way.. thinkin mags are 3 months old, etc.. the only way I'd be involved in a magazine is if we could have a short lead time. ie: we're planning to have pics from rounds 1 & 2 in our June issue of xmi (
http://www.tngpublishing.com/xmi/ ). An example of sorry lead time is the march issue of PWI had a story on the maldives w/ rick roy. That trip was from May of 2001!! that's 10 month old news!!! I couldn't believe it...
I tried the approach of online magazine for a while (pwctoday.com), and will still do it, but there's absolutely no money in it to become a full time job. People don't want to pay monthly subscriptions, and you can't charge what its worth to advertise on there. PWC companies are used to advertising in magazines. We get some advertising on our site, and we thank the companies that help support us, but if we were to charge the 'going rate' for advertising on there we'd have no advertisers.
Anyway, i hear ya when you say internet is the way to go, but right now the industry can't support it

We'll keep keepin on though cause it's fun
Rob
