Is it normal for a spark plug to develop rust after not running for a month or so, or am I looking at some type of water infultration here? I'm talking about the electrode inside the cylinder. Could there be moisture coming from the exhaust ports or something. The plugs were rusted enough to not allow the engine to fire. Once I removed the plugs and installed new it fired right up and ran fine. Any comment appreciated. Curt

Scott, how can you over heat motor? I was under impression that water craft use engines. My spelling my be bad, but I know that motors are electric units. When I come up to your rental place I want 50 hpt motor in my snowmobile. LOL

Curt, Although not a good thing, it is usually just condensation from the open exhaust port. Keep in mind that the clyinder wall will be rusty also, which is not good on the rings. In the future, be sure to fog your motor before storage, even if it is just for a week.

And be sure to 'blow out' the water in the pipe after riding. When its on the trailer, rev it up a few times. You will notice the exhaust get louder and the amount of water coming out the exhaust will decrease. Do't run it more than a few seconds, the motor will overheat.

Funny you mention this. Since I have been posting here for 3 years, I always used 'engine', but probably 80% use 'motor'. In the beginning, I wanted to post and correct this, but never did. I too was always under the impression that motor is used in electric conversations.

I could say that it is a Canadian thing... but its not. Just like though 'two stroke' isn't exactly correct. Should be ' two stroke cycle'. These are just more examples of poor use of the english language. And of all people to bring it up..!! George! lol Ironic, eh.
