I have read from several posters that pwc sales keep going down each year, then I also see a trend of rising costs from the major manufactures. I am beginning to wonder if these rising costs are effecting the consumers decision to buy. Back in '95 a ski could be had for 4500-5000, now your base model is 5900 - 6100. Quite a jump, granted you are getting a lot more ski with today's base model but would the recreational weekend rider care? Maybe... but price is a big factor when making a decision to buy (a toy)

It takes money to develop new technology such as DI and implement it. Also, if you're selling more units, you can drop the price and still remain profitable. If you don't sell as many, your cost of production/distribution tends to increase. I know it does at my plant. Darin

Ain't this the truth. If they keep adding 100.00 or more ech year for a new jet ski. New comers will never get one, b/c they cost to damn much The 2001 model (same ski as mine, but I have a 2000) ski price went up $100.00 more dollors and they even took 1 carb of from the 2000 model. I have 2 carbs and the 2001 only gots one carb. funny CHIT!! lol

I can remeber when a aftermarket exhaust was only200.00 now look at them.
