Has anyone had any experience installing these plugs in the 1200R. If so what is the recommended silicone to use? I want to make sure that they stay put once their installed.

regular clear silicone is fine. The plugs are really not going to go anywhere once installed even if you don't use the silicone, but I think it's there more to 'plug the plug' in other words to guarantee a good seal.

I personally have not seen any problem with the plugs staying in place regardless of the sealer used. However, I use either 3m-3809 urethane sealer-since the plugs are urethane this really seems to make a secure and tough bond or 3m below waterline marine sealant. Both work well. The marine sealant takes much longer to cure especially the regular formula- The mfg recommends 7 days!!!!! I believe a fast cure formula marine sealant is also available w/ approx 24 cure time.

Thanks Fagan. I just wanted to be sure. I didn't want to do the work twice.

Dana, help me out on the urethane sealer number. I'm really skeptical the number I quoted is correct now that I think about it. Post the correct number please!!!!! I don't have a tube handy to reference. thanks

Dan, it's the 3m black urethane windshield sealant. I've got a brain fart and can't recall the number 8609? 3608?

It may be 8609 you are thinking of- I've never heard of 3809. Hope this helps.
