OMC bankrupt???

I heard from several people in the boat industry that OMC has filed for bankruptcy... what will this do for Kawasaki and Polaris?? the Ficht Fuel Injection is produced by OMC from what I understand or a OMC company. Kind of makes you wonder with Bombardier going in a different direction by going with the Orbital system if they might not have known this was coming...Sea-Doo also seems to be on the ball with the orbital injection this year as DI boats are already in showroom floors... just something to post as the group is so slow in the winter...

I am not sure about the bankruptcy, but i do nkow that OMC is in financial trouble, it could be as serious as bankruptcy though

It wouldn't surprise me. OMC was probably the biggest financial hit PJS had that headed them towards closing their doors. If this is true, it might have some interesting reper- cussions in our industry.

As a owner of a Kawasaki FICHT boat, my ears definitely perked up. Anyone care to speculate on the possible impact?

Someone will scarf up the Ficht...don't worry.

Ficht is made by independent company so I see no problems.

Seeing as Kawi and Polaris are 'licensed' to use it, I reckon outsiders are doing the actual building and if that's so, you can wipe the sweat off ya.

But even if outsiders were building it, wouldn't OMC still be shelling out the money for them to build it since it is an OMC product??
