Hi,

I recently purchased a GSi from a relative needing cash so i got it cheap, having said that I obviously didn't exactly shop around . I've been searching the net looking for more information about it, and still have a few questions..

1. Can anyone give me a real-world top speed of this machine? I'm not really a speed demon, just curious, and it's still way too cold to ride in St Louis and find out for myself.

2. Seeing that I'll just be putzing around the lakes with this, I'm curious how well this might pull a single person on a small tube. Any recommendations for tubes with molded in tow rings, and some sort of bracket to put on the seadoo itself? Would a different prop help with this? (I'm not really concerned about top speed, just with getting on-plane and bottom end omph...)

3. Is there a FAQ located somewhere with good general pre-and post-use maintenance tips?

4. Any other general info from GSi owners? (Yes I've been lurking here for a few weeks, and I know Seadoos aren't everyones favorites. Trolls need not apply. )

What year is it?

The stock prop is probably well enough. However you can buy different props to make it perform better (speed or bottom end).

Go to www.sea-doo.net There is tons of info there, and links to other jetski sites.

All GSi's have 720 engines in them don't they? That would probably put the top end around 50 mph.

It's a 98, which i understand to simply be a carryover from 97

Not a bad site, still seems to be more speed orianted than rec-user (not that go-fast stuff is bad), I'm still wondering what people here do when they get to the ramp to prepare their machine, and what I should do right after I get it out of the water (besides driaing any water out of it)...

Thanks!

Martin, You simply need to go back to sea-doo.net and ask your specific questions, and give it a few days and you will get very good answers ( usually about 90% of the time)
