I have thought about buying a drop nozzle and have heard good and bad things, do you loose any top speed and or loss of bottom end down force?? Do they hold up well??

I have two on my sxipros. no problem what so ever, if you adjust the static trim (normally some form of mechanical stop) the same as a non drop and if the dia is the same..no difference in speed. After owning one I would never race a ski without having one for the starts.

On a recreational boat, I perfer the electric trim. A drop nozzel is pretty useless on a rec boat.
Now if it is a race boat, that is another story. drop nozzels work well if you get one that stays primed ( hydrolic ) or a cable syatem.
But on a runabout, mechanical trim tabs is the best option, with or with out the drop nozzel option.
