HX JETTING

got a problem with my HX ,when you start off from the beach, hot or cold, the motor 'burbles' and takes a few moments to 'clear out' before it runs fine with good throttle response and plugs the correct color. when you are in the water you can slow to idle speed then give full throttle and it accelerates cleanly away , it just has this hesitation when you start off??, opening the low speed screws dose help the problem but the motor sounds as though it is rich already?? can anyone help

Try putting in a lower pitched impellor. Or, try using larger low speed jets and smaller high speed jets.

If it has a Factory Pipe on it, increase the headpipe water by using the adjuster on the headpipe.

Yea, or the needle and seat are too big. If you have a 2.3 or a 2.5 N/S try a 2.0 with a lighter spring, to keep the popoff pressure around 20 lbs.

Make sure your oil injecton pump is timed properly. Your plugs may read perfectly; off-idle hesitation is your pilot circuit. Adjust low-speed screws/pilot jets accordingly.
