Darin ,glad to know you had such a fun and enjoyable day today as for me and a friend of mine that owns two JetShop built Ultras we spent the day in Paducah ,KY . having the ski's evaluated to see what it will take to get them back to some where close to reliable ,things didn't look good when we got into the motor Look's like to much squish velocity for pump gas (causing allot of problems) .As for me it was a great day the Stx is running and running great. Larry looks like you maid it home on time. Thanks for the tip, your generosity is greatly appreciated. Just got true making fixture for Ultra stock heads, it looks like I'll be re doing more of them screw ups. To bed dome volume was all over the map, I like to know who is the super machinist that cant hold volume closer then with in 1.5 cc. Tell David to find out who done this job, and sent him invitation to my school. Good grief Dave will spent some money on pistons and couple of cylinders, who knows what crank looks like, it may be twisted like a snake.

Went riding while my wife hosted a rubber stamp party. Decided to cruise downtown on the Ohio and do some tricks on the SJ for everyone at the Riverfront Park. Everything is going nicely, few people watching, deep (and I mean deep) hoodcover sub, made the turn to come up, POP, lost most of my power but it's still running, finally get back up and the ski comes up about 2 seconds later and is FULL of water and dies. So, I hit the start button and nothing. Bilge, bilge, bilge, need to get it running so the scupper will drain it. 5 minutes later it's finally empty.

Barely got it running by holding the hoodcover up 2 inches for fresh

Good heavens, you mean Daves skiis are at your place George? Only time DOES bring out the truth afterall...

I guess people should have listened to my ranting and raving..years ago....

It all began in '96 with an ADA motor that broke, seized and wouldn't run.... I wonder who THAT was...lol

And the sad part of this is that there is no telling how many more of these Ultras are out there,it is going to cost quite a bit to get these Ski's back in good running condition and you are correct people should take this as a warning and pull there heads to see what is going on in there as the damage is not hard to see. Darin, I have seen you sub. To put it simply, your machene needs more air. You aim that dam thing at the bottom and sometimes I think you go about half way there. Its physics, the motor needs BOTH gas AND air. Why dont you hook up an air tank inside your hull, you could even hook up a buddy breathing device so that you can breath also. Just go ahead and mount elevator tabs on your bow.

James Time quires many illnesses. MSV set at 44.5 s/sec. How long do you think any engine will lest? Volume very 1.5 cc between cylinders. Good news is, NO HAND GRINDING ON HEADS. Unbelievable. David is looking at replacement of many pistons and two cylinders. I also recommend inspecting his cranks, I think he will tear in to his engines to night, I do not know exactly when. Before he rip some body's head off or shortly after. Lord help us.
