How much would you spend?

How much would you spend for 6/10ths of a mph? Well, Mr. Gary Harris spent $6,000 additional on his XPL to be exactly .6 mph faster than a bone stock GPR that isn't broken in yet! In spite of running head to head for hours today, we GPS'd the GPR at 63.9 and the yellow bullet (heads, pipe, water injection, prop, grate, ignition, etc.) at a blistering 64.5. As Gary said, .6 mph is faster than me but I beat him so bad out of the hole (yes, a GPR stomping a XPL out of the hole - go figure), it takes most of Lake Anna to catch and pass me. What a great day on the water here - glass conditions, mid seventies, almost no one else on the lake and towards the end, Gary's lovely wife even joined us and lent some much needed class to the group that was riding. This is what we live for! Sorry for all you guys that had to do the 9 to 5 routine today!

Reminds me of Jim and his killerGPR......except he always went backwards in speed. hehehe

Tom, If Gary spent it with me, he paid about 4k less than that, and has the potential to run at least 2 mph faster when tuned correctly. That setup typically runs 65.5-66.5 mph, which is a gain of 5 mph, but of course, with a lite rider aboard

I sure hope at least this part is a joke, 'cause my POS GPR is so far behind off the line behind a Level 1 XPL or Ultra it is TOTALLY depressing.

You know he did - then he spent another 4K trying to make it faster and now it runs 2mph slower - LOL. He claims its the low compression heads, stale gas, wrong impeller, jetting for Colorado and a hundred other excuses. Fact is, the ski you built for him will run flat out all day and has never missed a beat which, for a 98, is pretty impressive. I just like to screw with him (as he does with me). It did run 65 with his wife on it. Gary seems to have put on a few pounds over the years and it shows in the skis performance - hahahahahaaaa. He lets me ride the little yellow beast and it got me real close to buying one this time around but GPR just gives me more room for my fat ass. Take care of yourself.
