HELP my Yamaha XL-700 wont start, maybe carb problem ???

I have a new 99 Yamaha XL-700 jet ski. I winter-rized it last winter and everything was fine this summer when I went to use it.

The last time I used it was probably June or July. I charged the battery a few days ago and tried to start it for the first time since the last time I rode it. The battery works fine and it tries to start, but won't The local Yamaha shop said maybe I have bad fuel since it sat up for a few months. He said maybe I need my carburetor cleaned if that doesn't work. He said everything might have gotten gummed up.

I did get it winter-rized yet and it's been cold lately. I live in Colorado. Is it hard to clean the carburetor myself ?

try pouring some pre mix down the carbs and see if it starts.. also try putting new plugs in and see if that helps
