Howdy guys,

I just found this posted at the www.jetski.com discussion boards under Yamaha. Check out the last few lines of the follow up post. Could this be true???

Wow Jarrett, makes me wonder why they even have a customer service department if no one ever has a problem. No matter how big or small the problem-isolated or rampant- they have the same bs pat response. What a shit way to do business.

If you that that is bad, I call to complain because I did not get the extended warranty that they offered in 1999 when purchasing a 1999 XLL using the Yamaha Credit Card before 02/28/99. The dealership send the check for $250.00 which I had put down to qualify and they never applied it to the incentive program. Yamaha told the dealership that they could not do anything about it. The dealership was very upset and asked me to complain to Yamaha Customer Service, I called and spoke to Sherry and she told me that there was no incentive in 1999 for the XLL that there was an incentive program in 2000 and that there was no way that I was going to get that etended year warranty. Lucky me for Boatbasin that send me the poster/add that Yamaha inserted in some of the watercraft magazines, I faxed to her, It took 3 weeks for them to finally approve my warranty, I had to call her several times and even fx her a call me and give me an update note. She is very arrogant and show to interest in helping whatsoever. It was only after I called several times and asked for her that she realized that I would take this to the top to get my problem solved. Yamaha needs better customer service and they need to audit calls and folow up on complaints.

It's all this crap I keep hearing about Yamaha that made me not even consider them when I bought my new Polaris. They may have nice boats, but the crap like this makes it all bad. Sorry, guy.

kelly ,think thats bad? do you really think that this only happens to yamaha ? NOT ! seadoo kawasaki and polaris all have the same kind of CR . some have good luck and some have bad............thats all . i personally had great results with yamaha and i know of others that have had the same as me , but i also know of some that have had bad results . and as for polaris being great at CR . well i know a couple that went through hell and back with the 2 99 3 seaters they bought and polaris basically said sorry cant help you . its all in how the cards fall for certain people i guess.

I submit all of the warrenty clamis for a water craft dealer. I must tell you that polaris is the most liberal company that I have ever dealt with. I have seen this company cover claims that no other manufacturer would. If you don't get customer satasfaction on a warrenty claim then it may because of the dealer and not polaris. just my 2 cents
