Just starting to negotiate with my dealer on a GPR for next spring. What is a reasonable price to pay for one of these things? I don't want him to go broke, I might need him later. I seem to recall pricing around $8000 being posted, is this correct? Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken approx $7199 is invoice on the 01: up $200 over the 00. Make your best deal accordingly.

Hey Charlie,

Who was it again that you and Mario bought your boats from? Just trying to see what the options are on the best price for next year.

Pat, We bought them at Hobby lobby Marine in Toms River, NJ. Price was $6965 out the door.. I did not have to pay NJ sales tax because I was transferring over state lines.. The place was OK... Nothing special.. It was all business, I pulled up, paid them the money, hooked up the trailer and drove home.

Here are a few links to there site

Home Page: http://www.hobbylobbymarine.com/

01 GP1200R Prices: http://www.yamahawaverunner.com/yamaha2.htm

The 2001 GP1200R is selling for $7131. I put a deposit on mine last February and it was the second to last one left. I received it in June.. So if you want one, then I would put a deposit on one now..

Thanks Charlie,

Couldn't remember the name of the place. Hope though when I do show up they won't be closed do to a fire like last year.

Pat, I actually forgot about the fire... When I pulled up to the place I was oblivious to the otherside of the building that was destroyed by fire the night before. Here I am walking around with a $7000 check looking for my ski and all of the employees where on the otherside cleaning up the debri from the 10 totaled fishing boats... I thought they where going to make me drive back home (5 hr trip 1 way) empty handed.. But the took care of me...

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like this dealer is going to want $11000CDN for the boat. Not a bad price, at current exchange rates that would be about $7200US. He is predicting a March delivery date. Are they delivered earlier in the US?
