Battery Testing???

What should i test for when testing the strength of my battery? just voltage? (cause they're all reading at like 12.34 which i find hard to believe) or is there something else to look at?

A standard lead-acid battery have a nominal voltage of 2.2 volts per cell. Therefore, when measuring a 12 volt battery in good shape with no load, the voltage reading should be (6 x 2.2) = 13.2 volts.

However, measuring the voltage is not a suitable method to determine the charging state of a battery, as the voltage drop is not excatly linear to the discharge of the battery.

The best way to determine the charging state of a lead-acid battery is to measeure the specific geravity of the electrolyte (acid) according to the following table:
