#1 Dual 48mm novi's with old style Delta's can't be beat period. Dual 46mm novi's second....

However if fuel consumption is important, stock reworked carbs offer fine perf.. I used all three with great results.

I have a killer exhaust FS for the SXi if you are interested - It is definitely THE top exhaust performance-wise for a Limited mod SXi - Coffman's Signature series Dry exhaust w/ water injection... looking to get around $525. I had it installed on a superstock configured SXi and was extremely pleased with the results but have heard from several with SXiPro Limited set-ups that swear by it as well. If you are interested in info on the parts and trouble I went through to get my SXi rockin' email me for details... I returned it to a stock config selling off all the aftermarket stuff and the ski's now for sale as I switched to another FX-1 as my back-up/buddy-ride ski

If you're trying to get by fairly cheap, here's a decent set-up for recreational ripping: old Factory Limited pipe; milled/re-cut stock head; Prok flame arrestors; 9/17 standard hub Skat; bored exit nozzle; JetD plate/grate...

Westcoast heads are definetly not the best heads for that ski. Novi's are the best carb on the market!

Hi Don;

What do you consider to be a better 750 pump gas head? There really aren't very many good choices, other than milling and redesigning the OEM head chambers.

In my opinion the Westcoast dome profiles (squish band width and angle) would be hard to beat for a recreational 750, but if you're talking about a race gas set-up, sure you can do better...the big downside to running Westcoast parts is that I'm pretty sure they're out of production.

I stocked up on 'O' rings and head gaskets when WPP had their warehouse clearance sale awhile back.

Some dealers probably still have head shell and dome inventory however.

Yep. Very nice carbs.

For the money I think ADA heads are about the best for rec riding. If you can find someone that knows what they are doing they can cut the westcoast domes out and make them burn better and not cause detonation. The trick is finding that person and it usually takes a set of 24 or 23cc domes.

Good luck

Hi;

Really? Why? I think the ADA heads are decent, but kinda pricey and more of a 'racer' set-up. Although billet is nice, it's overkill for a recreational boat, and I think even for a racer you'd be better off spending the $$$ on a stud girdle kit rather than the $300 ADA head.

However, if money were no object, the Speedwerx billet head with their stud girdle kit would be my choice:
http://www.speedwerx.com/watercraft/Kawasaki/ 750sxi_head_kit.htm

It's been my experience that remachined OEM heads and the relatively inexpensive Westcoast head work extremely well on recreational pump gas 750s, but again, I don't know what the Westcoast parts situation is now that WPP seems to out of the PWC biz.

Well, A lot depends upon the rest of your engine set-up when it comes to deto problems, and it's not just the dome profiles. With a reasonable ignition advance curve and squish clearance, along with adequate fuel octane for your for your CR, the Westcoast dome configuration is not deto prone. However, if you attempt to run too small of a dome volume, and end up with too high of a compression ratio, you will most certainly see detonation effects.
